Terms of Use

Effective October 13, 2026.

By using Auto Problems (auto-problems.com) you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Information, not advice

Auto Problems summarizes complaints that vehicle owners filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), plus NHTSA recall and safety-rating data. It is general information. It is not mechanical, legal, financial or safety advice, and it is not a substitute for an inspection by a qualified mechanic or for checking a vehicle's VIN for open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

About the data

No affiliation

We aren't affiliated with NHTSA, any government agency or any automaker. Vehicle makes, models and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the vehicles discussed.

Vehicle photos

Vehicle photos come from Wikimedia Commons and belong to their photographers. Each is used under its open licence (for example CC BY-SA 4.0 or CC0); where the licence asks for credit, the caption names the photographer and the licence. We crop them to fit the page. A photo shows one vehicle of the model generation the page covers, not the vehicle you may be buying, and its trim, market or colour may differ.

Using our content

The underlying NHTSA records are public. Our text, summaries, verdicts and page design are ours (vehicle photos stay under their own licences); you may quote short passages with a link to the page. Please don't republish pages wholesale.

Links

We link to other websites (for example nhtsa.gov). We aren't responsible for their content or availability.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the site is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for decisions made or losses incurred based on it.
